About Us

Sydney Roller Derby League was founded in 2007 by a group of women who were intrigued and excited about the idea of a female dominated, full contact sport on roller skates.Sydney Roller Derby League Skaters

Their hard work and dedication in establishing a roller derby league in Sydney has led SRDL from bouts in high school gymnasiums all the way to sold out bouts held at Luna Park’s Big Top.

SRDL now includes two representative teams and three home teams and has become the number 4th ranked team in Australia.

Our skaters train several times a week to develop their skills and hone their knowledge of the sport, and our volunteer members keep our skaters in line and on time.

WFTDACommitted to the growth of roller derby in the land down under, SRDL was extremely proud to become a full Women’s Flat Track Derby Association member league in 2014 and is looking forward to representing roller derby on an international level in the near future.

Sydney Roller Derby League represents a dynamic, inclusive, full contact women’s team sport striving for athleticism, empowerment and, above all, fun. We are a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers at all levels of our league. Their passionate dedication to SRDL and Australian roller derby has been the driving force behind SRDL‘s development over the years and into the future.

SRDL is made up of strong, committed people engaged in a do-it-yourself approach to this fast growing, spectacular sport. We welcome anyone who is interested in roller derby and would like to support this amazing sport, both on and off skates.
