Get Involved

Sydney Roller Derby League is always looking for new members and volunteers and there are any numbers of ways for you to get involved!

Want to strap on some skates and start playing for SRDL? We run a Skater Development Program for new skaters who would like to join our league and learn to play.

Level 1: Introduction to Skating teaches people new to roller skates the basics of getting about on eight wheels.

Level 2: Roller Derby Fundamentals develops on those skills in the specific direction of roller derby, introduction strategy and gameplay elements. Once both levels have been passed, skaters will have completed the Minimum Skills required to become full skating (and playing!) members of Sydney Roller Derby.

Each year we typically have two intakes where we run training programs for developing skaters. In 2019 the intake will be around March and July (exact dates TBC).

Confirmed first intake dates below:

Level One skater training kicks off on 8 March 2020

We also accept transfers from other leagues so if you’re moving to Sydney or interested in joining SRDL contact us to get more information.

If you aren’t so sure about playing a full contact sport but love roller derby, Team Zebra might be for you! There are roles both for on-skate referees and non-skating officials, all of which offer a number of opportunities to experience roller derby as part of a passionate and extremely knowledgeable team. Contact our Officiating team to see how you can become part of Team Zebra.

SRDL is always open to media and sponsorship opportunities. If you’re interested in sponsoring our league, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact our sponsorship committee to find out more.
