Our training season for 2019 has come to an end, but there are a few exciting events around town you should check out below.

Our very own PureNRG and Peppermint Snaps from the Sydney Roller Derby League will be headed out to Western Sydney to hold training sessions with the Western Sydney Rollers.

The training will be suitable for all contact-ready roller derby skaters, however the scrim sessions are for scrim-ready skaters only.

WSR is a mixed league and these sessions will be open to all genders.

The dates are below:

  • 3rd November
  • 17th November
  • 24th November
  • Please note; due to the Nationals it WILL NOT be on 10th November.

Access to the venue is from 4:30pm so please factor in some time be geared up and ready to start at 5:00pm. Training starts at 5:00pm and scrimmage training runs from approximately 6.20pm to 7.45pm.

There is no cost for this event as WSR would like to share the love of Derby and end 2019 with fun times :)

Please ensure you inform your league you will be attending this.

Australian National Roller Derby Championships: 8-10 November 2019

Which state will be reigning champions? Women and junior skaters from more than 25 different leagues across Australia have been hand selected to represent their state at the second Australian National Roller Derby Championships. But wait, that’s not all. While the states are competing, tthere are 8 Australian Men’s Roller Derby (AMRD) leagues from around Australia and across the Tasman who will also be there to compete for the title of Australian National AMRD Champion! Three days of non-stop roller derby action as athletes who have undergone selection and weeks of team training battle it out.

SRDL: Learn to Skate program

At around February/March and July/August each year the Sydney Roller Derby League runs a gender-inclusive Skater Development Program that can take you from beginner skater to playing roller derby. No matter what your experience level we have a place for you. More information about the 2020 program will be issued closer to the date, but for the time-being check out our “Learn to Skate” section of the website.

Northern Rivers Revolt roller derby tournament – 14-15 March 2020

Two-day roller derby tournament hosted by Tweed Valley Rollers together with Northern Rivers Roller Derby (NRRD) in Byron Bay NSW. Sydney Roller Derby League’s Snipers team took home the trophy in 2019. As the reigning champions, will we be able to retain it?
