SRDL Open Skate Day

Updated: Feb 29

Ever wanted to try rollerskating but weren't sure where to start? We got you!

Sydney Roller Derby is thrilled to announce our first ever OPEN SKATE Come and Try Day this March! Thanks to Skate Victoria, City of Canterbury Bankstown and NSW Office of Sport, we're opening up our tracks on Saturday March 16 for you to come skate with us!

No skates? No problem! Borrow ours!

Thanks to Canterbury Bankstown Council, we have begun our Skate Gear Library, where you can borrow skates, helmets and other essential protective gear to use at our sessions. It's a great opportunity to try out some skates before getting your own, and learn what works best for you. Loans are subject to availability, so let us know when you sign up what you need to borrow.

Got your own?

Bring them along and we'll show you some quick maintenance tips to adjust them and get you rolling in no time.

New to skating or just looking for a safe place to try some things out? We have two full size indoor roller derby flat tracks to practice on, and our experienced skaters will be demonstrating skate safety and skills and helping you find your roll.

And the best part?

Our open skate Come and Try sessions are FREE! But space is limited and registration is essential, so to sign up check out the form below.

The details:

Saturday March 16, 11am, at Dunc Gray Velodrome, Carysfield Road, Bass Hill NSW.

If the session fills quickly, we will release a second session in the afternoon.

Bring a water bottle, but we'll have snacks and refreshments available.
